Note to make modifications, you have to boot into recovery mode, but the check can be done from a normally booted machine. Fo some how I missed the Mac security part earlier. My mac doesn’t recognize the driver after I installed the following driver from the Sillicon Labs: Thomas, you may have a previous version of the driver installed. The vendor ID is macinotsh or Replied Sep 194: You should see a request from MacOS for you to allow Silabs Driver, in case you don’t have it enabled. I tried to install and uninstall the driver several times on Mac Os High Sierra.
Are you sure that this product uses a Silabs CPx chip?
I’ve uninstalled and installed several time without any success. Replied Sep 197: I used the slabs Macingosh script and it did return the driver not found error.
And yes, you can expect the OS to unload it when it is not being used. I have attached a couple of sceen shots. Do note that you might have to install it twice for it to work, as the first install will just remove the existing driver.

Two of the diagnostics there I had already run and included in my first post. My mac doesn’t recognize the driver after I installed the following driver from the Sillicon Labs:.
Vpc up using Email and Password. Post as a guest Name. Replied 15 days ago.

I installed a second time as was suggested in one thread. This can be done by a normal user and does not require sudo or booting in recovery mode. Replied Sep 262: On macOS Mojave
